Messer Tulipano is waiting for you in Turin for an unforgettable experience!
This spring the 25th edition of Messer Tulipano in Castello di Pralormo (TO) is back. As usual, each edition is characterized by a new and original planting. In this edition there are more than 130,000 tulips, accompanied by many curious varieties, a collection of botanical tulips and a path in the undergrowth dedicated to tulips already known in 1600. The entire green area in which the event extends was designed in the nineteenth century by the renowned architect Xavier Kurten, famous for having given life to the most enchanting English gardens in the Savoy residences and in Piedmont.
This year, past editions will be celebrated, revisiting their unique themes. A trip back in time takes us to 1600, when Holland was hit by the "tulip fever": precious bulbs like houses, dizzying rods and a wave of debts. This madness lasted until 1630, when it faded and Europe experienced its first financial collapse. The Asian origins of the tulip will also be discussed, between Turkey and Mongolia, before its triumph in Europe.
This year, in addition to the 130,000 tulips that color the park, you can see up close some "special" varieties, grown in authentic Dutch boxes.
A part of the forest will be dedicated to daffodils of many varieties. The Orangerie, on the other hand, hosts a fascinating historical route dedicated to the tulip, from its native lands in Turkey, India and China, to Holland. Finally, the "bird walk" will offer children the opportunity to discover the different species of birds that populate the park.
