Hills, wines and the Marchesati

Tour dedicated to the discovery of three jewels of Piedmont: the Langhe, the Roero and the Marchesato of Saluzzo.

The tour includes four days in some of the most significant cities and villages of Piedmont. After visiting the city of the white truffle, Alba, we will move between Roero and Langhe, visiting the municipalities of La Morra, Barolo and Pollenzo, embarking on a unique journey to discover the fine wines that make Piedmont world famous. Finally, the tour will end in the town of Saluzzo (historically the seat of the Marchesato) which is a treasure trove of medieval finds of inestimable beauty.

DAY 1: Arrival by own means at the hotel / farmhouse in Alba to leave the luggage. Later, meeting with the guide to discover the historic center of the city famous all over the world for its extraordinary and precious white truffle. The rest of the day is dedicated to individual activities, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to the discovery of La Morra, a town in the Langhe renowned for the production of Nebbiolo and Barolo wines, not to mention its breathtaking landscapes, characterized by vineyards and hills. Lunch and transfer to the town of Barolo; the afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the historic center in the company of a guide and "WiMu", its characteristic wine museum. The rest of the day will be available for individual activities, we recommend a visit to the famous I Marchesi di Barolo winery. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: After breakfast, transfer to Pollenzo, a Bra municipality, famous for being the seat, since its creation in 2004, of Carlo Petrini's University of Taste. In Pollenzo there will be a visit to the Wine Bank, where it will be possible to taste the fine native wines and buy bottles privately. The rest of the day will be available for individual activities - we recommend a visit to Bra, a typical Roero town. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: After breakfast, transfer to the town of Saluzzo, which was the seat of the Marquisate, bordering the Duchy of Savoy. Morning dedicated to visiting the characteristic streets of the city and the Castiglia; originally a fortified residence of the Marquises, over the centuries it became a military garrison, home to government figures, a hospital for the sick and finally, a prison. Lunch and transfer to the Castello della Manta. Formerly a medieval manor owned by the Marquisate of Saluzzo - today it is a FAI garrison that preserves late Gothic paintings, inspired by chivalric romances. The rest of the day will be dedicated to individual activities - a visit to the Cistercian Abbey of Staffarda is highly recommended. End of our services.
